Rooted in Design, Driven by Craft

At the heart of Willow + West is founder and artist Simone DeSantis, a Colorado-based textile designer with a lifelong love for art, interiors, and craftsmanship. Her journey began at High Point University, where she studied Interior Design, Home Furnishings and designed showroom displays for the International Textile Alliance. From there, Simone went on to work with bespoke furniture manufacturers in Los Angeles, where she immersed herself in every aspect of design—from visual merchandising and product development to interior and showroom design.

Drawn consistently to the tactile beauty of textiles, Simone deepened her practice at Otis College of Art and Design, where she studied textile design and began developing her signature hand-painted and hand-dyed patterns. Her work is shaped by years of hands-on experience, from exploring global fabric markets to learning traditional dyeing techniques in Japan. Today, she brings that artistry and insight to Willow + West: a studio where every fabric tells a story, and every pattern begins with original artwork.

The Making of a Collection

At Willow + West, pattern is personal. Every collection begins with a feeling and evolves through a slow, intentional process of layering, painting, and stitching by hand. Each design is grounded in a deep understanding of color, form, and application—shaped over time, never rushed. There are no shortcuts here. No mass production. Just thoughtful creation from start to finish.

Our fabrics are made to order, offering design professionals the flexibility to tailor color, scale, and fabric base to suit their project. Whether hand-painted in watercolor or dyed using centuries-old Shibori techniques, our textiles are designed to feel both timeless and textural, equally at home in a layered interior or as a focal point in a modern space. Every detail is considered. Every design is made to last.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Manufacturing

Sustainability isn’t an afterthought at Willow + West—it’s integral to everything we do. From concept to production, our studio is dedicated to creating textiles that are as environmentally conscious as they are beautiful. Each fabric is printed to order using organic inks in a chemical-free, zero-water-waste process, and we prioritize natural fiber bases like linen and cotton for their softness, strength, and sustainability.

Linen, in particular, is one of the most eco-friendly materials available. Made from the flax plant, it requires minimal water, no harsh chemicals, and produces virtually zero waste. It’s fully biodegradable, incredibly durable, and naturally suited to slow, intentional design.

We believe in mindful making: small-batch production, thoughtful sourcing, and a commitment to reducing waste at every step. All of our textiles are ethically produced in the U.S., and we’re proud to collaborate with other women-owned businesses to bring our collections to life.
