Our Story

As the designers behind Willow + West, Leonie and Simone have a shared passion for all things creative. They met at Otis design school in Los Angeles and have been creating together ever since. After experimenting with a variety of techniques, the duo blended their painterly and hand-dyed Shibori artwork into the distinctive look that is now Willow + West.

About Simone

Simone has always been a creative at heart and has been painting and dying fabrics for as long as she can remember. She studied Interior Design and Home Furnishings at High Point University and began her career in visual merchandising. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked for a bespoke furniture manufacturer and was fully immersed many disciplines of design including merchandising and showroom design, interior design, and product design. As textiles were a common thread in her career, she then studied textile design at Otis where she met Leonie. Combining her love for design and manufacturing experience, she brings a unique blend of artistic vision, product design, and production knowledge to W+W.

About Leonie

Leonie comes to Willow + West with a lot of varied and colorful experience. Originally studying Life Sciences at University in the UK, she moved into the world of sales & marketing, gaining some product design and merchandising experience along the way. But she could never really shake her creative roots, always taking art & design classes wherever she was living. Following a move to Los Angeles this ultimately led her to discover textile design at Otis. It was there she met her future business partner Simone and the first seeds of W+W were sown.  Now she gets to combine her fascination of the natural world with her creativity, bringing an organic look and feel to so many of the W+W designs.
